Those gearheads from TVS Television Network have come up with some classic drag racing shows from the Mizlou TV Network library. When the 1983 National Drag Championships were posted last year they drew thousands of viewers from aroun the world. Now, the 1984 Championships are available. Just as the stock car classics have aroused the left turn crowd, these classic drag races depict a much simpler age. And, it's fun to watch the great drivers from yesteryear back in action!

Classic NASCAR Races of the 1980's Featured on TVS Sports.Com

Back in the 1980's the image of NASCAR on the TV Networks was minimal. CBS would run the Daytona 500 every year and ABC (remember Chris Economackie?) would carry the Firecracker 500. Other than that you were on your own. Then in the early 1980's the Mizlou TV Network came up with the idea to package a series of NASCAR races to independent TV stations across the USA. They pulled off the necessary station clearances by boiling own the races to one hour shows and allowing the stations to run them within a window of time when they had a free hour. The result was a healthy staton clearance and the establishment of NASCAR as a regular TV staple for race fans in the USA. Everyone knew Richard Petty, but the Mizlou shows allowed Bobby Allison, Neil Bonnett, Tin Richmond, Dale Earnhardt, Bill Elliot, and Harry Gant to become national names. After a five year period, NASCAR was well on its way and their use for Mizlou was over. While Mizlou faded into oblivion in the 90's, NASCAR blossomed, and fans were treated to multi network live coverage of their now 'national' sport.

Arena Football fans who are lamenting the loss of the past season, and maybe the league forever, can get a bit of a fix by watching some of the classic Arena Football Games on TVS Sports.Com. Bowling on TVS - The Rest of the Story!

Bowling, long a staple on broadcast TV, took a severe hit a decade ago when ABC stopped the coverage that it started with the very formation of the PBA. New PBA owners and a refreshed attitude by ESPN has seen bowling make quite a comeback in the past year. In addition to the PBA action, we are now seeing 'stunt' PBA bowling shows such as showdowns , team action, etc. Good! It's about time to give bowling fans this programming. There are millions more bowlers than golfers but network and advertising executives play golf. If they bowled there'd be plenty of bowling on TV!

Now, TVS Sports.Com is bringing back 'the rest of the story'. First they are putting up classic bowling shows such as the Brunswick Team Bowling from the 1980's; the Miller Team Bowling from Reno; Make That Spare episodes from the 60's; and even Jackpot Bowling classics from the 60's. Next, they've added the stoied LPBT tournaments from the 80's.

Thus year, they've started an ambitious production schedule with new episodes of Las Vegas Celebrity Bowling, Make That Spare, Jackpot Bowling, Pinbusters, Bowlarama, and Bowling For Dollars. Plus, they've started a regular Challenge Cup Bowling series that has already provided much excitement and drama.

The great part about TVS Bowling is that anyone who can knock the pins down can come to Las Vegas and qualify for these events. No politics, to gender issues, no age issues. It's pure competition. Between the great work of the PBA and 'the rest of the story' by TVS, bowlers are again getting a wide array of exciting bowling action on TV.

USA vs. China Basketball in 1973 Was Revolutionary!

In 1973, long time cold ar advasary China accidentally engaged in what bcame knows as 'ping pong diplomacy' with the USA. It all came from a USA ping pong player who captured the headlines in the USA and China with a Chinese- USA event. President Nixon, looking for an opportunity to open up China to the free world, had aides propose that we send a basketball team to China to play their national team. Amazingly, it came about, with the USA putting together a college all star team that included George Karl (N Carolina), Quinn Buckner (Indiana), Kevin Grevey (Kentucky), Alvan Adams (Oklahoma), Kevin Stacom (Providence), and present UNLV head coach Lon Krueger (Kansas St). A mere 3 days prior to the event, the Chinese allowed TV innovator Eddie Einhorn to bring a limited crew and cameras along with the team. Each show will feature a specific style of racing- Legends, Banderleros, Late Models, Bombers, Chargers, Roadsters, Trucks, and Midgets. Soon we'll be adding drag racing to the mix.
For now, we're covering races just from Las Vegas. In the future, we'll expand this coverage to other tracks around the USA.
